REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to commit to 11 months
(September 2026 - July 2027)
- Must participate in at least ONE production during the 26/27 season
- Ability to attend rehearsal 1-2 times a week
- 1 Weekly student director meeting
- Ability to arrive/leave rehearsals approx. 30 minutes early/late
Join our
STUDENT DIRECTOR PROGRAM !
Student Directors will work alongside Starbound staff to get hands on experience in the following areas:
- Backstage tech
- Costumes and makeup
- Stage Management, Assistant Directions, and Direction
- Prop and Set Design
- Sound and Audio Media Design
- Lights and Visual Design
- Music Direction and Choreography
Starbound staff will mentor students as they gain the necessary skills and education to assist with mainstage and Jr. productions in a variety of fields.
High level student directors will be entrusted with areas of production management and design, and ALL student directors will be assigned components of a production they will be responsible for completing.

We understand that this program is a huge commitment and we truly believe it can make a difference for your student. To give back to our student directors we love giving them fun experiences and opportunities to explore theatre, music, and art!

Annual Student Director Trip
Live Shows and Performances
At the end of our season we make a theatre based student director field trip. This trip changes each year but so far we have visited Ashland Oregon and Solvang California!
Student directors are given the opportunity to learn, lead and inspire!
This season includes: 2 Starbound Mainstage Productions, 3 Starbound Second Stage, 2 Starbound Performing Arts Academy Showcases, 1 Solano Community Players Mainstage Production, and 2 Solano Community Players Second Stage Production
